Description

In Austria, employees, in agreement with their employer, have the opportunity to reduce their working hours in accordance with § 11a AVRAG and receive educational part-time allowance for the duration of a training measure. This subsidy is available nationwide to private individuals pursuing a professional or academic qualification. The prerequisites are an agreement on the reduction of working hours, proof of ongoing participation in education or training (e.g., studies), and a fulfilled minimum duration of employment subject to unemployment insurance. The funding is budget-unlimited and can be applied for continuously without fixed deadlines, thereby ensuring financial planning security during the education phase.

The aim of the funding is to increase labor market participation and reduce unemployment through targeted qualification measures. By combining reduced working hours with financial support, professionals are enabled to acquire new skills and qualify for future-oriented occupational fields. In the long term, both participants and companies benefit from more highly qualified personnel. The funding is particularly suitable for employees who wish to complete education or training alongside their professional activity and sustainably expand their career prospects.
