Description
The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Hamburg promotes political educational leave and educational trips in Hamburg as well as internationally. In practice-oriented seminars, usually lasting five days, participants gain insights into topics such as urban politics, migration, ecology, antifascist memory culture, culture, and social justice. Recognized as educational leave under the Hamburg Educational Leave Act, the program combines excursions, lectures, and discussions with experts and activists on site. The modular participation fee covers the program, accommodation in a double room (single room available at an additional charge), tour guidance, and transfers; arrival and departure are the participant's responsibility. The foundation operates on a non-profit and transparent basis, grants fair fees, and carries the quality seal of Weiterbildung Hamburg e. V.
Funding is provided for employees, workers, and politically interested individuals entitled to five days of educational leave per year. A prerequisite is an employment relationship with entitlement to leave according to the Hamburg Educational Leave Act; the application must be submitted to the employer no later than six weeks before the seminar begins. A registration confirmation as well as an official recognition notice must be presented when applying; the participation fee must be paid before the event starts. The foundation allows registration at any time and supports applicants with questions regarding the application process. Its goal is to strengthen social participation, encourage critical engagement with current challenges, and foster international dialogue for sustainable transformations.
