Description
The Sparkassen Foundation for Art, Education, and Culture awards educational institutions in the Zollernalb district with a prize for forward-looking, democracy-oriented initiatives. Schools of all types – from primary and secondary modern schools to comprehensive, secondary, and vocational schools, as well as special, support schools, and independent Waldorf schools – develop project ideas together with teachers that not only convey democracy but make it tangible. Under the motto “TOGETHER WE CAN DO BETTER: UNDERSTANDING – EXPERIENCING – PRESERVING DEMOCRACY,” the focus is on workshops, simulation games, theater, and media projects that promote participation, strengthen diversity, and set sustainable impulses for everyday school life.
An expert jury will select proposals by May 31, 2026, that particularly impress with their innovation, model character, feasibility, and sustainability. Each winning project will receive project-specific funding of up to €4,000, which may only be used for the implemented measure. The award ceremony will take place in a formal setting, accompanied by media coverage of the activities carried out in the Zollernalb district. This award aims to empower children and young people to confidently shape democratic processes themselves and contribute to social cohesion in the long term.
