Biotope Sponsorships (Nature Credits) – KulturLandschaft Günztal Foundation

Companies of all sizes from Bavaria have the opportunity to strengthen biodiversity and climate resilience through a symbolic commitment. Starting from a minimum area of 500 m², they can become sponsors of valuable biotope areas within the Günztal biotope network, thereby actively contributing to the preservation of these habitats. Each sponsorship covers the maintenance and care of one square meter over at least 25 years and costs €12 per m². A digital certificate with geocoordinates, certificate ID, and verification in the BayernAtlas transparently documents the contribution. The areas are officially recognized as biotopes and registered with the Bavarian State Office for the Environment. Ongoing funding opportunities allow for flexible planning and give companies the chance to request their commitment at any time and implement it in individual quotas.

The program promotes a close connection to the region and is especially aimed at organizations seeking effective CSR measures or planning sustainable gifts for employees, customers, and partners. It expands traditional environmental and nature conservation activities by adding an emotional element, as each sponsorship can be presented as a tangible gift. A written request specifying the desired location, number of square meters, and implementation period is required. The initiative supports environmental protection, agriculture and rural development, regional promotion, as well as energy efficiency, thereby contributing to long-term climate protection strategies in the Allgäu. Through this measure, the KulturLandschaft Günztal Foundation fosters regional responsibility and a sustainable dialogue between business and nature conservation.
