ESD at Technical Colleges – Support Materials & Offers

The S.O.F. Save Our Future – Environmental Foundation supports vocational schools for social pedagogy in Hamburg with free accompanying materials and individual consulting services on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Upon request, educational institutions receive modular learning units and lesson plans on the topics of fundamentals of sustainable development, early childhood ESD, biodiversity, and their implementation in teaching. These materials include methodological guides, worksheets with print templates, sample solutions, further resources, and suggestions for educational partnerships. Educators can use the four sequential modules either entirely according to their needs or integrate individual units and methods into their school and curriculum development. Additionally, the foundation offers tailored consulting for vocational and technical schools: in workshops and individual consultations, concepts for the internal integration of ESD are developed, action strategies for everyday campus life are created, and training formats for teachers are designed.

The funding is open to all Hamburg vocational schools for social pedagogy as well as vocational and technical schools that wish to integrate ESD content into their curricula and school development. The prerequisites for funding are an informal request by email including personal and institutional information, as well as proof of activity at a vocational or technical school. Funds are granted as a subsidy, and requests can be made at any time. S.O.F. fully covers the provision of materials, thereby relieving providers and educators. In this way, the foundation supports the structural embedding of ESD in vocational education and training and contributes to a sustainable educational culture in Hamburg.
