The program promotes expert analyses, the use of new digital technologies, and employee qualification in the three modules of consulting, implementation, and training, each at 50% of eligible expenses. The maximum amounts are €50,000 for consulting and training projects and €250,000 for implementation projects. Eligible to apply are SMEs according to the EU definition with headquarters or a branch in Brandenburg. Projects must have a minimum value of €5,000, may last six to 24 months, and a maximum of two projects per company can be funded simultaneously. An initial consultation with Wirtschaftsförderung Brandenburg GmbH (WFBB) is mandatory and constitutes an application requirement, which must be submitted via the ILB digital customer portal by June 30, 2027.

Project-related expenses eligible for funding include external consulting services, personnel costs (gross employee salary plus 15% flat-rate employer contributions), depreciation on instruments and equipment, third-party services, as well as external training offers. Additionally, indirect costs amounting to 15% of direct personnel costs can be considered. The innovation vouchers exclusively support projects whose results permanently benefit the Brandenburg location and remain in the state for three years. Selection criteria include innovation potential, quality of concept, and sustainability. For the application, in addition to the WFBB confirmation, a project description, financing plan, SME self-disclosure, documentation of personnel costs and project expenses, as well as the BIG-Digital expense annexes must be submitted.
