Description

The 2026 participatory budget of the city of Hohenstein-Ernstthal invites citizens to actively participate in shaping municipal financial planning. With a total volume of €20,000, funds are available for additional measures, the use of which will be decided by the city council in a public session. Residents of Hohenstein-Ernstthal may submit their own ideas, thereby providing impulses for social cohesion and the promotion of democracy. The initiative supports small and medium-sized projects aimed at beautifying the cityscape, improving order and safety, as well as maintenance or repair work in municipal facilities.

Funding is provided, among other things, for measures to enhance playgrounds and parks, acquisitions for municipal premises, as well as minor construction or repair work. Submissions must be made using a completed application form, which must be submitted no later than June 30, 2026. Funding covers 100% of the requested expenses, provided the eligibility criterion—residence in Hohenstein-Ernstthal—is met. The deadline offers ample opportunity to carefully plan and present project ideas. By involving residents, the direct dialogue between administration and citizens is strengthened, generating vibrant and needs-oriented impulses for urban development.
