Description
The Citizens' Award of the Citizens' Foundation for Chemnitz has annually honored outstanding projects and initiatives since 2012 that sustainably strengthen the community in Chemnitz through their exemplary work. Carriers of non-profit organizations, interest groups, or other associations based or active in Chemnitz can apply. The focus is on exemplary impact, contribution to social cohesion, and thematic relevance of the current call – for example, commitment to democracy, participation, or social inclusion. A funding amount of 1,000 euros is available for first place, 600 euros for second, and 400 euros for third. Submissions must include a meaningful project description, proof of non-profit status or the statutes, and the completed application form. The call is issued continuously on an annual basis; exact deadlines are published by the Citizens' Foundation for Chemnitz.
With the award, the Citizens' Foundation for Chemnitz aims to make civic engagement visible and motivate other actors to actively participate in shaping their city.
