Guarantee Program for Heating Networks Schleswig-Holstein

The Guarantee Program for Heating Networks Schleswig-Holstein secures credit-side guarantees for investments in municipal and private heating networks in the state. By assuming default guarantees of up to 80% of the loan amount and a maximum limit of €2 million per project, the measure enables small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, freelancers, as well as public institutions to realize economically viable projects. Applications can be submitted continuously via the digital financing portal of the Guarantee Bank Schleswig-Holstein. A prerequisite is a registered office or place of business in Schleswig-Holstein and a financing project in the field of heating networks that contributes sustainably to climate protection and regional value creation.

Eligible costs include investment expenses for the construction and modernization of network infrastructures, technical planning and engineering services, as well as operational working capital related to the heating network. Projects outside the heating network sector and refinancing of existing liabilities are not eligible for funding. Evaluation is based on economic viability, sustainability and climate protection aspects, as well as regional significance for Schleswig-Holstein. Required documents include the digital inquiry, standard banking evidence for the financing application, and proof of project viability. The Guarantee Bank Schleswig-Holstein GmbH acts as guarantor on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Labor, Technology and Tourism to facilitate small and medium-sized enterprises' access to low-interest loans and to promote the expansion of sustainable heat supply structures.
