Description

The KfW promotional loan for the climate-friendly new construction of residential buildings supports private individuals and builders nationwide in the realization of energy-efficient new construction projects. The goal is to sustainably reduce CO₂ emissions and to make the German housing stock climate-friendly. Funding is provided for independent residential buildings constructed according to the Efficiency House standards 55, 40, or 40 NH; for Efficiency House 40 NH, an additional sustainability certificate is required. Eligible applicants are builders planning the new construction in Germany who submit the technical documentation for the building description and energy demand via their house bank. The loan covers construction costs, technical systems such as heating and ventilation, as well as further energy efficiency measures—up to an amount of 50 million euros. Completed construction projects, land acquisition, and land costs are excluded from funding.

Applications can be submitted at any time through the house bank without a fixed deadline, offering maximum flexibility in project planning. For complete submission, an energy demand or final energy demand certificate as well as detailed building descriptions and technical documentation are required. As part of the nationwide initiative of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB), this program complements existing measures in the fields of energy efficiency, climate protection, and sustainable construction. The KfW Banking Group handles the processing and acts as an experienced funding partner. With this attractive loan, builders can realize innovative, forward-looking housing concepts while simultaneously making a decisive contribution to climate protection.
