Description

As a central funding instrument of the Federal Government, this program supports qualified energy consultations for residential buildings throughout Germany. Owners, condominium owners’ associations (WEG), usufructuaries, as well as tenants and leaseholders with written permission from the owners, can have an individual renovation roadmap (iSFP) created. Approved experts collect all relevant data on-site, develop a tailored concept for step-by-step or simultaneous energy-efficient renovation, and explain the results in detail – also in an owners’ meeting. 50% of the consultation costs are subsidized, up to a maximum of €650 for single- and two-family houses and €850 for residential buildings with three or more units. An additional explanatory grant of up to €250 is available to condominium owners’ associations for presenting the iSFP at their meeting.

The application must be submitted online via the BAFA portal before the consultation begins. Funding requirements include, among others, a residential building in Germany that is at least ten years old and a consulting company listed in the Energy Efficiency Experts List. Eligible costs include consultation fees, preparation and explanation of the iSFP, on-site data collection, as well as the explanatory grant for WEG meetings. Construction measures, investment costs, or subsequent material purchases are not covered. For the application, information on the building’s structure, the consultant’s number, a De-minimis declaration if applicable, and a power of attorney in case of authorization are required. Interested building managers thus receive a well-founded basis for decision-making regarding future-proof modernization measures and benefit from government support on the path to greater energy efficiency.
