Burgsitz – Visitors (Himmelsfels) – Inquiry

The Werner Pfetzing Foundation Himmelsfels enables open access to spiritual and informal educational events at the historic castle residence in Rhineland-Palatinate through the program “Burgsitz – Retreat Guests.” Private individuals and non-profit organizations can apply at any time for a stay as retreat guests via a simple inquiry form. The initiative promotes social cohesion as well as democratic engagement, education, and social participation. No fixed fee is charged; instead, a donation within one’s means is requested (guideline 20–25 € including bed linen). This model aims to provide individuals and small groups with a space to withdraw in peace, continue their education, and gain new impulses through dialogue.

Interested participants submit their proposed dates as flexibly as possible and, if necessary, provide alternative timeframes to improve planning. A prerequisite for funding is the willingness to donate at one’s own discretion. The open procedure allows for spontaneous requests as well as long-term planning and takes into account preferences regarding length of stay and group size. Due to the subsidy nature, participation remains independent of financial means. This offer is aimed at all who seek a break with an educational character in an atmosphere of openness and mindfulness and thus wish to actively strengthen social cohesion.
