Description
The Business Angels Starter Fund Saarland offers start-ups and young micro-enterprises in Saarland a low-interest loan to finance investments and working capital. Funding is provided to businesses within the first five years of operation that have difficulty accessing external capital due to a lack of equity or collateral. Applications can be submitted at any time through the Business Angels Network Saarland (BANS), which also provides professional support throughout the entire term of up to 60 months. Typically, a loan of up to 25,000 euros is granted – in justified exceptional cases, such as innovative university start-ups, amounts of up to 50,000 euros are possible. Repayment begins only after the first year, and the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy covers the processing fee.
A prerequisite for funding is a commercially viable investment project, accompanied by BANS, as well as the submission of a written business plan with a detailed financing concept. Refinancing, restructuring, and repayment of already granted third-party external financing are excluded. The application is evaluated based on the economic viability of the project and the recommendation of the Business Angels Network Saarland. The aim is to provide young companies with a solid equity base and to promote sustainable growth in Saarland.
