Description

The C/O Berlin Talent Award 2026 – Artist is a nationwide funding prize aimed at outstanding emerging artists in the field of photography and lens-based media. Under this year’s guiding theme Body Politics, the C/O Berlin Foundation honors projects that make power structures and discursive practices surrounding the body visible and tangible. Winners receive a prize of €5,000, a solo exhibition in the exhibition spaces of C/O Berlin, as well as a custom-designed publication with Spector Books. The award is complemented by a joint artist talk that promotes interdisciplinary exchange between artistic practice and theoretical reflection.

Eligible to participate are individuals aged 18 to 35 whose projects have not yet been shown as a solo exhibition in a major European institution nor published as a monograph. All application materials must be submitted in English via the Picter platform by January 26, 2026, 12:00 CET. A professional jury evaluates the applications based on quality, thematic relevance to Body Politics, scholarly significance, and potential for exhibition and publication. The open call offers a unique opportunity to gain international visibility and expand professional networks. Emerging artists benefit from this award not only through financial support but also through a prestigious presentation and publication platform within the international photography scene.
