With an endowment of €5,000, the award is aimed at work from the fields of experimental, translational, or epidemiological research that was published or accepted for publication between 2025 and 2026 at a German institution. The focus is on contributions that deepen the understanding of the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases and present innovative approaches to diagnostics and therapy. The award is presented at the Rheumatology Congress in Wiesbaden and serves to sustainably strengthen the promotion of young scientists in this specialty.
Applicants must submit a complete application dossier consisting of the scientific work, an explanation of its clinical-scientific significance, a brief summary of their career to date, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and, for manuscripts in English, a German summary. Selection is based on the criteria of scientific excellence, contribution to the understanding of pathogenesis, and relevance for the diagnostics and therapy of rheumatic diseases. Applications can be submitted by email until May 31, 2026. Through this, the award supports ambitious young researchers in advancing innovative concepts and improving the care of patients with rheumatic diseases in the long term.
