Description
The Challenge-Driven GenAI4EU Booster targets consortia consisting of SMEs, research institutions, and public entities within the EU and associated states, promoting the research, development, and validation of trustworthy generative AI solutions in the strategic sectors of aviation, pharmaceuticals/drug development, and telecommunications networks. In a multi-stage competition, an initial open call will select 20 participants, each receiving up to €250,000 in FSTP funding for prototype adaptation and feasibility demonstrations. The four best approaches will then compete in an intensive phase, each supported with €2,000,000 in funding, to identify the most technically advanced and innovative prototype in realistic scenarios. While all phases provide a protected environment and methodological support, established partners from the user industry ensure access to relevant data and assist with strategic exploitation.
With a maximum total funding amount of €15,000,000 at 100%, personnel costs, material and travel expenses, subcontractor services, and financial support for third parties are covered. A consortium structure comprising at least three legal entities from different EU or associated states and compliance with ethical and security standards are prerequisites. Submission of a project concept including CVs, a financing plan, and an exploitation strategy is possible until April 15, 2026, 17:00 Brussels time. Following positive evaluation, the first competition round will commence from June 2026, during which innovation potential, market relevance, and technical excellence will be assessed and rewarded in stages.
