Charles Hosie Foundation: General Funding

The Charles Hosie Foundation supports non-profit associations and initiatives in the Hamburg area with project grants of up to 5,000 euros. Funding is provided primarily for projects in the fields of public health, child and youth welfare, as well as labor and social affairs, which align with the foundation’s purpose. Applications can be submitted by February 28 and September 30 each year. The funding covers all phases of a project – from initial financing through implementation to follow-up financing – and is exclusively aimed at organizations operating locally in Hamburg. These grants are intended to strengthen innovative ideas and sustainably expand existing services.

Eligibility for application requires the non-profit status of the applying organization, the purpose binding as defined in the statutes, and a location within the Hamburg area. Project proposals should include a concise description of objectives, target groups, and measures, supplemented by a detailed cost and financing plan. The written application typically comprises 2–3 DIN A4 pages and provides all relevant information about the organization (name, legal form, address, contact person). Evaluation is based on alignment with the foundation’s statutory purpose. Through this funding line, the Charles Hosie Foundation contributes to providing non-profit initiatives with a solid foundation for effective and sustainable projects in the health and social sectors in Hamburg.
