COACHING4FUTURE is an innovative funding program in Baden-Württemberg specifically designed to inspire students in their career choice phase with practical insights into STEM professions (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, and Technology). The program is supported by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation for Education and utilizes state-of-the-art multimedia presentations as well as interactive exhibits to convey exciting insights into scientific and technical training and study opportunities. The dedicated coaching teams, consisting of young STEM junior academics, focus on hands-on exchange and enable participants to experience forward-looking career prospects up close.
Within the framework of the initiative, the experienced coaches visit secondary schools in Baden-Württemberg from grade 8 onwards and present innovative approaches that actively address the shortage of skilled workers in STEM disciplines. The demonstrations combine digital techniques with practical presentations, creating a dynamic learning environment that promotes not only theoretical knowledge but also practical application. The multimedia approaches – ranging from interactive wall presentations to virtual reality applications – offer participants a comprehensive insight into the diverse career and study opportunities in the STEM field and support them in making well-informed decisions about their professional future.
The funding program is aimed at educational institutions that wish to support students and teachers during the critical phase of career orientation. With the help of innovative elements such as the Career Navigator, an online interest test is also offered, providing additional guidance for undecided youths. The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness among both young talent and teachers early on about the opportunities in STEM professions, thereby making an important contribution to securing Baden-Württemberg’s position as a high-tech location. Through the continuous use of modern communication and presentation techniques, COACHING4FUTURE forms a sustainable bridge between school education and the demands of the modern working world, which in the long term leads to strengthening regional innovation capacity.
