Description
The EU program "Data Space for Manufacturing" supports the creation of powerful data spaces in the manufacturing industry to collect, manage, and provide large, high-quality datasets from real production environments for training generative AI models. Consortia consisting of industrial companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, research institutions, data intermediaries, and AI factories that wish to provide and utilize data for innovative AI applications in areas such as predictive maintenance, process automation, supply chain management, or product development are eligible for funding. Legal, technical, and business solutions will be developed to grant authorized AI developers direct or indirect access to the datasets, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of the EU location.
For implementation, up to €3 million per project is available as a non-repayable grant under the Digital Europe Programme. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, travel and subsistence expenses, as well as material and equipment costs. Funding can be applied for by companies, start-ups, educational institutions, non-profit or public entities based in an EU member state or associated country, provided that financial and operational capacity is demonstrated and EU exclusion criteria are met. The submission deadline runs from November 4, 2025, to March 3, 2026 (5:00 p.m. Brussels time). Selection is based on the criteria of innovation content, technical quality, project organization, and expected impact.
