Description
The needs-based support secures the livelihood of adults with disabilities in Styria, provided that full inpatient care does not cover all ongoing costs. Expenses for food, accommodation, household goods, heating, and clothing, as well as other personal needs, are funded. This particularly includes maintaining social relationships and participating in cultural life to ensure a dignified existence. Designed as a grant, the assistance supplements missing services of inpatient facilities on a case-by-case basis and helps to bridge financial gaps in everyday life.
Eligible are persons aged 18 and over who are not cared for in a full inpatient facility of disability assistance and whose total income is below the specified guideline amount. A prerequisite is also the receipt of assistance pursuant to § 3 para. 1 lit. c, d, g, h, i or l or its utilization for at least twelve months within the past six years. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no deadline. The responsible authority for approval is Department 11 – Social Affairs of the Styrian State Government. The funding enables a needs-based compensation of additional costs related to disability and contributes to participation and social integration.
