Description

The Innovative Dentistry Foundation annually awards the Dental Innovation Award to promote creative approaches in non- and microinvasive caries management as well as novel practice concepts. Private individuals and educational institutions from across Germany have the opportunity to submit anonymized case reports or innovation concepts. With a total prize money of €10,000, particularly convincing contributions that stand out through their level of innovation, quality of documentation, and practical relevance are recognized. The award is under the patronage of the German Society for Conservative Dentistry and is decided by an independent jury. Interested dentists, prospective medical professionals, and specialists from research, teaching, and public health sectors can apply until August 15, 2026.

A successful application includes, among other things, the completed application form, a copy of the license to practice, a declaration of authorship, and a one-page summary. Depending on the category – documented treatment case, innovative idea/invention, or practice innovation – additional documents in triplicate are required. The terms and conditions of participation must be accepted, and all patient data must be anonymized. The aim is to honor minimally invasive concepts and further develop modern dentistry. Contributions of equal ranking may be awarded jointly; if no submission is deemed worthy of a prize, no award will be given. The announcement of the winners will be made in writing, and the publication of names will take place within the foundation’s communications.
