Description
The EU initiative supports state-of-the-art, multimodal AI-based approaches in medical imaging to accelerate their use in clinical and research settings. With a funding rate of 100% and a budget of up to €14,400,000, the call targets small and medium-sized enterprises, research institutions, healthcare providers, technology suppliers, as well as non-profit and public organizations. The objective is to validate AI-supported tools and transfer them into personalized medicine, ensure data quality and regulatory compliance within the framework of the European Health Data Space, and provide practical training for medical personnel. Eligibility for application requires affiliation with an EU member state or associated country and fulfillment of admissibility and exclusion criteria (including financial and operational capacity).
The projects should build upon the Cancer Image Europe data ecosystem to further develop data services, interfaces, and quality assurance processes. Multi-center validations generate evidence on clinical benefit and cost-effectiveness, while parallel training measures contribute to sustainable implementation. Evaluation criteria include scientific excellence, expected impact, and quality of implementation. Submission takes place in a single-stage procedure by 03/03/2026. Required documents include, among others, a fully completed application form (Part A & B), a financing plan, an ethics self-assessment, and a declaration of ownership and control structures. This program offers a unique opportunity to advance the digital transformation in healthcare and transfer next-generation AI technologies into practice.
