Description

The Deutschlandstipendium of Goethe University Frankfurt supports outstanding students from all disciplines with an annual scholarship of €3,600 – funded equally by private sponsors and the Federal Ministry. The scholarship is awarded to high-achieving first-year students and students in higher semesters who demonstrate excellent academic performance, social engagement, and special personal circumstances (e.g., first-generation university students or migration background). The funding extends over 12 months and is provided as a grant that does not need to be repaid. Selection is based on defined criteria: academic achievements, voluntary commitment, and individual life circumstances.

Interested students can enroll at Goethe University and demonstrate their eligibility through academic transcripts, a motivation letter, and a CV. Application deadlines are announced annually; exact dates can be found on the university’s websites. In addition to financial support, the non-material funding program offers participants valuable networks, speaker events, and interdisciplinary project teams that strengthen future skills. For private sponsors and institutions, the program provides the opportunity to specifically support emerging talents and to become active as patrons or donors of sponsorship packages A/B. Donations starting from €50 are collected in the scholarship fund and allocated to students as needed. Thanks to the federal matching principle, every contribution has double the impact. Thus, the Deutschlandstipendium specifically promotes academic excellence, equal opportunities, and the transfer of knowledge between university and society.
