Description
The DIETMAR FREIER FOUNDATION awards the Deutschlandstipendium, a continuously available nationwide funding opportunity for students and freshmen in the Social Work department. The aim of this support is to provide individuals with above-average academic achievements or special personal circumstances with a monthly allowance of €300. This income-independent scholarship enables financial independence and thus a more intensive focus on studies. The funds are provided equally by the federal government and private sponsors, creating a synergy between state support and societal commitment.
Eligibility for funding requires enrollment at a public or state-recognized university in the Social Work department, as well as proof of outstanding academic performance or challenging life circumstances that additionally complicate studies. The award is granted for a period of up to 12 months; an extension beyond the standard period of study is generally excluded. Both academic achievements and extracurricular engagement and demonstrated responsibility in the individual career path are evaluated. Interested parties are asked to contact their university directly, as it coordinates the application process and, in consultation with the foundation’s board, makes the final selection.
