Description

The funding program Digital Europe (Future Austria Fund Co-financing) is aimed at companies based in Vienna that participate in large-scale digital projects within the framework of the EU Digital Europe Programme. The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of the public and private sectors in Austria through state-of-the-art digital technologies and to achieve international excellence. The funding is granted as a non-repayable grant and can be approved for projects selected by the European Commission. Applications have been accepted electronically via the FFG eCall portal on an ongoing basis since July 1, 2022, until December 31, 2026. A prerequisite for national co-financing is the submission of the original and fully signed EU application.

In addition to personnel costs, eligible expenses include material and travel costs, contract research, as well as expenditures for instruments, equipment, and project-related overhead costs. Selection is based on transparent criteria such as the level of innovation of the project, contribution to strengthening the sector, sustainability aspects, feasibility in Austria, and compliance with the European Commission's requirements. Project leaders must demonstrate their headquarters or a branch office in Vienna and provide evidence of eligible costs. This procedure enables rapid, continuous evaluation to purposefully advance digital core technologies in public and private institutions.
