Description

The Digital Marketing Voucher offers Austrian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) an attractive subsidy for the first-time online promotion of their goods or services abroad. With a co-financing of 50% of the documented net costs, it supports search engine advertising, social media campaigns, online marketplace advertising, display or addressable TV ads, as well as conceptual and creative services provided by external experts. Up to three target countries can be considered per application, with the base grant amounting to a maximum of €7,500. Companies that can demonstrate a technology or sustainability bonus may claim an additional €2,500, so that the total funding amount can reach up to €10,000. Funded companies must be active members of the Austrian Economic Chamber or the Chambers of Civil Engineers, meet the SME status according to the EU definition, and have invested no more than €1,000 in online marketing in the selected target country to date ("New to digital marketing"). A substantial value-added share of at least 25% in Austria is a prerequisite, except for trade with self-produced or contract-manufactured products.

The funding period runs from 01.04.2023 to 31.03.2027, with a maximum nine-month service period starting from the submission of the online application in the funding account. Applications can be submitted until 31.12.2026 at the latest (three applications per company). Eligible expenses include, among others, production, design, and translation costs for photos, videos, and texts, influencer campaigns, as well as accompanying consulting, conceptual, and support services. Non-eligible costs include personnel expenses, license fees, cash payments over €500, webshop programming, or listing fees on marketplaces. After a positive funding approval, billing is done by uploading original invoices, payment receipts, and campaign screenshots. The review is based on application requirements, the prospects of success of the measures, and the macroeconomic benefit. With the Digital Marketing Voucher, Austrian SMEs can effectively strengthen their international presence.
