Description
The Digitalbonus Thuringia is a grant initiative by the Free State of Thuringia that supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digital transformation. Funding is provided for investments in hardware and software, external service providers, license, usage and system service fees, as well as employee training, provided these are directly linked to the digitization project. The funding rate is up to 50% of eligible expenses, but no more than €15,000. The minimum volume of an eligible project is €5,000, with a maximum volume of €150,000. The project duration must not exceed twelve months. A prerequisite for approval includes, among other things, a detailed digitization concept and proof of secured overall financing. Up to two applications per company are permitted.
Eligible are SMEs according to the EU definition with a business location in Thuringia from manufacturing, construction, crafts, trade, hospitality, event management, as well as economically related and creative freelance professions. Projects that constitute mere replacement acquisitions without digital progress, involve used assets, or construction measures are among those rejected. Furthermore, no similar funding applications may be pending under other programs. Selection is based on expected efficiency gains, sustainable economic viability, and improvement of IT security. Due to high demand, funds are currently exhausted; applications cannot be submitted at this time. Once new funds become available, applications can be submitted via the Thuringian funding portal. This targeted financial stimulus aims to increase competitiveness, automate business processes, and develop innovative business models in Thuringia.
