Description
The state of Upper Austria supports the sustainable reutilization of unused or underutilized buildings through the Digital Object Twin program. Eligible for funding are private individuals, companies, and public institutions based in Upper Austria. Applicants must be owners of the affected properties and carry out the development together with at least one consortium partner relevant for utilization (e.g., architects, real estate developers) as well as the local municipality. A prerequisite for funding is a minimum usable area of 300 m², an unused or underutilized property of particular importance to the public sector, existing development potential, and proof of a concrete utilization interest. The funding rate is 50% of eligible costs, but no more than €8,000 per property. Project submissions are accepted continuously until 31.12.2027.
All partial services necessary for a functional digital twin are eligible for funding: 3D scanning (interior and exterior), registration of the point cloud in the state coordinate system, 3D model according to ÖNORM A 6241-2 (LOD 300), creation of standards-compliant floor plans, sections, and elevations, comprehensive photographic documentation, as well as a report on energy supply and technical building equipment. For the application, a completed application form, documents describing the property and proof of area, evidence of the consortium partnership and utilization interest, as well as the involvement of the local municipality must be submitted. The digital object twin provides a sound basis for decision-making to efficiently revitalize vacant or underused buildings and sustainably integrate them into the community environment.
