Description

The Michael Stich Foundation provides nationwide, unbureaucratic support through its direct aid to non-profit organizations and public institutions assisting children infected with HIV and those suffering from AIDS, as well as their families. The aim of this funding initiative is to enrich the lives of those affected and offer them valuable respites by fulfilling personal, small wishes. Examples include the purchase of a new school backpack, contributions to a sports club, tutoring, concert visits, or short recreational holidays. Expenses for furnishing a youth room and modern hardware such as computers, mobile phones, or gaming consoles are also supported. In addition to individual case assistance, projects for care, education, and psychosocial support are funded to establish a long-term network of aid.

Eligible for funding are exclusively institutions such as AIDS support organizations, associations, or university clinics that submit an application with the required documents to the foundation. Necessary are an informal application, proof of the child's HIV infection, a cost estimate, and an overview of the family's financial income and expenses. For first-time applications from institutions, the current exemption notice along with the statutes must also be submitted. Since direct aid is continuously available, applications can be submitted throughout the year. Upon positive approval, cost reimbursement for the requested services is made through the supervising institution. This procedure ensures transparent use of funds and guarantees that the grant money reaches exactly where it is most urgently needed.
