Diversity: Annual and Basic Subsidy

In Carinthia, the city of Villach provides annual and basic subsidies as grants to secure social, socio-political, sporting, health-promoting, and cultural institutions with a focus on diversity in the long term. Funding is granted for measures that expand the offerings in a target-group-oriented and innovative manner, facilitate access to social services, and provide uncomplicated advisory services. A central concern is the strengthening of social networks as well as the promotion of self-organization and inclusion of disadvantaged groups. Prevention and victim protection measures, as well as projects in the areas of counseling, care, education, and employment, complete the funding profile. The funding period is set for twelve months; applications must be submitted by May 28 at the latest for the following year and are based on a transparent financing plan.

Eligible to apply are independent natural persons with primary residence in Villach, as well as legal entities or partnerships (e.g., associations, GmbH, cooperatives) with headquarters or offices on site, which carry out initiatives in the areas of women's promotion, migration, children and youth projects, or general commitments to social cohesion. Applications must be submitted in writing, preferably electronically, to the Magistrate of Villach and require, in addition to the project description and financial statement, proof of legal capacity (current ZVR excerpt or company register excerpt not older than three months). The allocation of funding is based on criteria such as degree of innovation, target group relevance, facilitation of access to social services, networking, self-organization and inclusive counseling, as well as education and employment. Following successful approval, a structured report on the use of funds is required to document the appropriate use of resources.
