Description
The village facilitation program in Hesse supports rural municipalities and inter-municipal cooperations in shaping participatory change processes locally. Public institutions can apply for the program year-round, provided they are not already designated as a funding priority within the framework of Hessian village development. The goal is to actively involve citizens in planning and jointly develop viable concepts for pressing challenges—such as in the fields of local supply, volunteering, healthcare, or social and cultural infrastructure. Through moderation- and consultation-oriented services, local actors are supported in designing and implementing innovative strategies to strengthen rural areas.
Funding is provided for moderation and consulting services as well as the development of tailored concepts within the framework of a non-repayable grant. The funding rate is 55% to 75% of eligible expenses, with a maximum application amount of €37,500. Only projects with citizen participation meet the requirements, while initiatives within the context of other programs such as ISEK, ILEK, or LES are excluded. Applicants submit their documents online via the LaWiLe portal of the state of Hesse and contact the respective district administration for technical clarification.
