Dr. Horst Böhlke Foundation Award

The award annually honors outstanding, innovative achievements in the field of leukemia and blood cancer and supports projects, publications, and initiatives that promote rapid knowledge transfer and the advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Funded are scientific studies, dissertations, and practice-oriented endeavors with special innovation potential that contribute to improving chances of cure or accelerating treatment processes. With funding amounts ranging from €1,000 to €5,000 per project, the foundation supports both individuals and groups from research institutions, clinics, and universities nationwide.

The target group includes especially scientific staff, physicians, nursing professionals, students, and doctoral candidates whose work focuses on leukemia or related hematological issues. A prerequisite for application is the timely submission of the fully completed application form by July 15 of the current year, as well as a focus on knowledge transfer, dissertation topics, or novel research findings. Awards are granted based on the criteria of benefit (e.g., increase in cure rates), feasibility, and degree of innovation. Applications received after the deadline will automatically be carried over to the following year. Through this award, the foundation underscores its commitment to forward-looking research approaches that directly benefit patients in oncology and hematology.
