Printing Cost Subsidies (Martha Muchow Foundation)

The Martha Muchow Foundation supports early-career researchers in the field of childhood and educational research in publishing their results by granting printing cost subsidies of up to 1,500 euros. Funding applications can be submitted continuously as soon as a scientific text intended for publication is available or, in the case of dissertations, the successful completion of the oral examination can be demonstrated. The aim is to make the perspectives and action processes of children visible and to continue the life’s work of Martha Muchow. Both empirical and non-empirical works are supported: monographs, articles, and dissertations that make a theoretical or methodological contribution to childhood research. The funds cover printing costs exclusively and help make research findings accessible to a broad audience.

To apply for funding, the following must be submitted: a brief curriculum vitae, proof of completion of the oral examination (for dissertations), copies of the reviews, and a justification of the research contributions. Empirical works require a project outline explaining the research question, data collection and analysis methods, as well as the relevance for making children’s perspectives visible. Non-empirical studies must demonstrate how they honor the life’s work of Martha Muchow. Additionally, a cost outline with the requested funding amount must be provided. The selection is particularly based on the appreciation of the child’s perspective and the further development of Muchow’s research ideas. The foundation awards the grants independently of institutional deadlines and thus specifically supports the printing of scientific texts to strengthen childhood and educational science.
