Description
The ERDF / JTF funding of the State of Upper Austria (Program 2021–2027) supports companies, start-ups, non-profit organizations, and public institutions in Upper Austria. The goal is the national co-financing of European measures 1.3 (Shaping attractive regional innovation ecosystems) and 6.1 (Promotion of investments for employment and sustainability). In addition to impulse consultations and science-business cooperations, the program promotes investments in research & innovation, digitalization, smart cities & regions, and education & training. Incubators and regional intermediaries in the innovation and transfer sector can also apply for grants, as can SMEs covering personnel, material, or planning costs, external services, or the acquisition of capital goods. Applications can be submitted at any time via the online ATES system; project descriptions and financing plans are part of the application documents. Additionally required are proof of life and working time, invoices, and payment receipts for accounting. Private costs, VAT, and cash payments under 500 euros are not funded. Evaluation criteria include the regional innovation content, sustainability aspects, as well as the creation of employment and cooperation potential.
The district funding volume amounts to a total of 7.5 million euros. The term runs from 01.01.2021 to 31.12.2029, with ongoing calls enabling flexible application submission. Funded projects contribute to strengthening regional innovation, digitalization, and energy efficiency ecosystems. Through nationwide integration into the economic and research strategy #upperVISION2030, pioneering Green Deal models as well as initiatives for circular economy and CO₂ reductions are equally addressed. The funding office “Office of the Upper Austrian State Government, Directorate LWLD, Department of Economy” offers support for inquiries and accompanies applicants throughout the entire funding process. The measures make a direct contribution to regional value creation as well as to the sustainable climate- and employment-oriented development of Upper Austria.
