EMFF 2023-2027: Agricultural Income Support - Young Farmers

The EAGF funding for agricultural income support is aimed at young farmers throughout Austria who take over farm management for the first time within the first five years. The objective of this direct grant measure is to build sustainable and stable incomes as well as to actively support generational change in agriculture. Between 01.01.2023 and 31.12.2027, supported farms receive a supplementary premium payment specifically tailored to the financial needs of newcomers. With a total budget of €71.15 million, the measure contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of rural areas and securing the long-term resilience of the agricultural sector.

Eligible for funding are natural persons as well as companies that have taken on farm management for the first time within the last five years and meet the criteria of active farmers according to the Austrian CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027. Applications are submitted digitally via eAMA/DFP, with early registration at Agrarmarkt Austria recommended. Interested applicants should ensure full compliance with all application requirements in addition to providing proof of farm management to guarantee prompt processing. The continuous five-year period allows for flexible planning and facilitates entry into agricultural self-employment.
