Description
Since January 22, 2015, the City of Graz has honored private individuals with their main residence in Graz who celebrate a significant round or half-round age or wedding anniversary. Without an application procedure, benefits in kind in the form of gold ducats and bouquets are awarded once the prescribed anniversary years are reached. The only requirement is the presentation of proof of identity; forms or additional documents are not necessary. This continuously valid grant program strengthens social cohesion and is anchored in the social sector.
For wedding anniversaries from the Iron Wedding (65 years) to the Miracle Wedding (80 years), the celebrants each receive a gold ducat and a bouquet. For age anniversaries, after the 95th and 105th birthdays, single ducats with bouquets are also presented; the 100th birthday is honored with four gold ducats and flowers. Furthermore, for every subsequent round and half-round birthday, single honorary ducats in conjunction with a bouquet are provided. With this initiative, the City of Graz sends a clear signal of recognition and social appreciation for both seniors and married couples alike.
