Description

The Oase Foundation enables vocational schools in North Rhine-Westphalia to offer multi-day experiential education courses including overnight stays at a youth education center. Classes of all school types – from vocational entry classes (BEK) and language learning classes to the preparatory year for vocational training (BVJ) and vocational schools – have the opportunity to participate in three- or five-day "Get Out Once" courses. In special cases, one-day programs are also feasible. The aim of the measure is to promote key qualifications in an extracurricular environment and to sustainably strengthen social intelligence. Experienced facilitators work with groups and tailor the activities individually to the composition and needs of the participants. A moderate course fee ensures appreciation of the activities; students in need can, if applicable, apply for education and participation benefits through the respective school authority.

The focus is on the development of social skills as well as the recognition and expansion of personal strengths. Through experiential educational exercises, participants learn to take responsibility, manage conflicts constructively, and adhere to jointly agreed rules. The content is coordinated in advance with the accompanying teacher to ensure a smooth process. Applications for funding can be submitted at any time, with the grant provided as a subsidy. This funding approach is specifically aimed at educational institutions that wish to support disadvantaged students in a targeted manner. The continuous demand and high rate of recommendations confirm the effectiveness of the offer and its sustainable impact on the learning and life paths of the young people.
