Over a period of up to 36 months, up to €500,000 in funding is available as a grant to finance the establishment of an independent research group in Berlin, including postdoctoral personnel costs, honoraria for the visiting fellow, consumables, as well as travel and subsistence expenses for stays at the University of Oxford. The aim is to sustainably strengthen the OX/BER scientific cooperation and complement excellent areas of expertise within the Berlin research landscape. Selection is based on the scientific excellence of the fellow, their contribution to bilateral cooperation, and the relevance of the project to the defined research challenges.
Eligible to apply are public universities and research institutions in Berlin that operate excellence clusters, Einstein Centers, Research Units, DFG Collaborative Research Centers, or Graduate Schools funded under the Excellence Strategy with a remaining term of at least three years. A positive decision or a letter of recommendation from the host university or Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is a prerequisite for application. Required documents include a CV, publication list, project description, a justification of the fellow’s significance for the host institution, and a statement from the hosting entity. Submissions must be made by the deadlines specified on the Einstein Foundation Berlin website.
