Description
The funding program "Individual Business Investments in Agricultural Enterprises (EBI)" supports businesses and types of operations in rural areas of Brandenburg and Berlin in implementing future-oriented investments to enhance competitiveness, climate, environmental, and animal welfare protection. Examples of eligible funding include the new construction or renovation of livestock facilities to reduce emissions, the acquisition of modern irrigation and water storage systems, the purchase of new machinery and equipment for internal and external operations, as well as investments to expand alternative income sources as outlined in Part III of the guideline. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant ranging from 40% to 65% depending on the measure (funding rate 40–65%, minimum investment volume €10,000, maximum €5 million per enterprise). Prerequisites include compliance with the EU SME criteria, maintaining accounting records for at least two years, an investment concept with financing confirmation from the house bank, official permits, and proof of the investment’s designated use for at least five years. Applicants select the appropriate funding item, enter project-specific costs and a financing plan, and upload the required attachments.
Applications are submitted entirely online via the Internet application system IAP of the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture, and Land Reallocation. After activation via software certificate (authega) or user profile, projects can be created, cost plans prepared, and quantity frameworks defined. The intuitive map interface enables geo-based recording of forest conversion areas and forestry measures. Application documents, invoices, and payment proofs are transmitted electronically. Thanks to integrated plausibility checks and status notifications, applicants always maintain an overview of processing steps and required supplementary submissions. Upon submission of the application, the selection procedure begins based on established criteria. Following approval, disbursement, accounting, and final usage verifications are conducted digitally. The EBI program thus contributes to sustainably and future-proofing the agricultural structures of the region and promoting innovation.
