Description

The Dr. Heinz-Wilhelm and Marianne Frölich Foundation provides uncomplicated individual assistance for pet owners with their primary residence in Germany and main place of residence in Lower Saxony, whose available monthly household income falls below the garnishment table (§ 840 ZPO). The purpose of the funding is financial support for operations and medical treatments of sick pets, as well as the submission of cost estimates and veterinary certificates. Funding of up to 33% of the costs, but no more than €500 per individual case, can be granted. Additionally, a one-time neutering subsidy is available (cat up to €80, tomcat up to €50). Regular vaccinations, parasite treatments, measures already financed by other means, or animals acquired after the onset of neediness (exception: therapeutically certified animals) are not covered.

The following documents are required for an application: current proof of income (not older than three months), proof of pet ownership (vaccination record, pet registry or dog tax excerpt), cost estimates and veterinary certificates, as well as a waiver of confidentiality towards the treating veterinarians. Additionally, a photo of the animal is required for publication consent. Application forms and funding guidelines are available for download and can be submitted by fax or email. Assessments are conducted continuously, and applications can be submitted at any time. Particular consideration is given to neediness, medical urgency, and the possibility of a personal contribution. This funding is aimed at socially disadvantaged pet owners in Lower Saxony and makes an important contribution to animal welfare and the health care of pets.
