Description
The Franz Beckenbauer Foundation continuously provides individual case-by-case assistance nationwide for people with disabilities as well as for individuals who require support due to illness, neediness, or unforeseen emergencies. Funding is granted to both private individuals and charitable organizations in accordance with § 53 AO. The grants cover a wide range of practical and medical needs, including household appliances, furniture, stairlifts, elevators, as well as medical aids such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and glasses. Measures to enhance mobility (for example, bicycles and disability-adapted vehicles), therapies, and coverage of living expenses can also be subsidized. A prerequisite is proof of need, exhaustion of primary social benefits (e.g., integration assistance, health insurance benefits), and for organizations, a current certificate of charitable status. Excluded are, among other things, debt repayment, legal costs, vocational training, dental treatments, or funeral expenses.
A formal application is not required: applicants can describe their situation informally via an online form or by mail. For a complete review, self-disclosure forms, data protection declarations, income proofs, as well as medical certificates or disability ID and proof of primary benefits should be submitted. The foundation evaluates applications based on the urgency of the individual case, available personal funds, and proof of overall financing. Since funds are available at short notice and timely application does not require a deadline, applicants receive prompt feedback.
