Description
The individual case assistance of the Hildegard and Horst Röder Foundation is aimed at individuals in the greater Hamburg area who have fallen into a private emergency through no fault of their own. As a financial grant, the foundation covers 100% of the material costs for necessary purchases and measures – ranging from clothing to furniture and household appliances, as well as laptops, phones, or tutoring sessions. Renovation work and disability-accessible bathroom modifications are also supported. Applications can be submitted continuously and are settled directly with the service providers, so applicants do not have to pre-finance any incurred costs. The goal is to provide sustainable assistance and promptly relieve those affected when state or family support options have been exhausted.
A prerequisite for funding is residence in the greater Hamburg area as well as proof of an emergency situation through no fault of one’s own and unsuccessful application for state or family assistance (e.g., rejection notices). Applicants must submit a current income statement, if applicable medical certificates or proof of disability, a description of the problem solution with a cost estimate, and for project amounts over €750, at least two alternative cost estimates. Ongoing costs such as rent, electricity, arrears, therapy costs, or the purchase of vehicles and private classified ads purchases are not funded. The individual case assistance offers an unbureaucratic and directly effective support to quickly restore stability for people in challenging life situations.
