Description
The EAFRD program 2023–2027 offers a continuous grant for Austrian companies in the federal states of Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and Vienna. Funding is provided for structural investments as well as technical facilities and equipment serving the diversification, processing, and marketing of agricultural products. A prerequisite is the cultivation of at least 3 hectares of agricultural land at the application date, proof of the project's relation to the agricultural enterprise, and the submission of a well-founded diversification concept with an economic feasibility study. Eligible investment projects include farm shops, processing rooms, or green care facilities, with a funding rate of 25% or 30% for social services and a quota of up to €400,000 per enterprise or project. Purchases of land, fossil energy supplies, common agricultural machinery, and own labor (except own construction timber) are not eligible for funding.
Selection and prioritization of submissions are based on economic potential, job and innovation impact, degree of novelty, strategic importance, qualifications, and resource use. Applicants must submit documents such as the diversification concept, official permits, and, if applicable, trade license certificates by no later than 31.12.2027. This investment support aims to strengthen value creation in rural areas, increase competitiveness, and open up new income sources for cultivators, agricultural household members, and cooperations. The measure thus supports the sustainable development and innovative use of agricultural resources in line with the EU CAP strategy.
