Description
The funding for the energetic use of biogenic raw and residual materials supports companies, other entrepreneurial organizations, associations, and religious communities throughout Austria in thermally processing waste and residual materials of biogenic origin and substituting fossil fuels with biogenic secondary fuels. Both the investment costs for plants for combustion and combined heat and power generation as well as for technical ancillary equipment, raw material storage, and processing systems are eligible for funding. Planning, installation, and assembly services are also reimbursable. The goal is a noticeable reduction of CO₂ emissions and air pollutants as well as an increase in energy efficiency and the climate protection contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). All projects located in Austria are eligible to apply; the application must be submitted before the first legally binding order, delivery, or start of construction. Funding applications can be submitted until December 31, 2050.
For a complete submission, technical descriptions of the planned plant, economic feasibility calculations, offers and cost estimates, building permits, as well as a report from the credit institution are required. The evaluation is based on the environmental and climate protection impact, the economic viability of the measure, and the technical maturity level. The processing is conducted online via the KPC portal "Meine Förderung". After a positive review by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH and subsequent approval by the responsible Federal Minister, a legally binding funding contract will be offered. The disbursement of grants takes place according to contractually agreed dates; final accounting documents must be submitted no later than six months after completion.
