Energy Consulting for Non-Residential Buildings, Facilities, and Systems (EBN)

The funding program “Energy Consulting for Non-Residential Buildings, Facilities, and Systems” supports professional energy audits and consultations nationwide according to DIN EN 16247 or DIN V 18599, as well as contracting orientation consultations, providing a grant amounting to 50%. Eligible applicants include municipal authorities, special-purpose associations, non-profit organizations, religious communities, social and healthcare institutions, cultural institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as freelancers based in Germany. The objective is the systematic inspection and analysis of energy use in non-residential buildings, facilities, and systems to identify efficiency potentials, optimize consumption values, and establish foundations for sustainable contracting models.

The fee for accredited energy consultants is funded for a duration of up to 12 months with a maximum funding amount of €5,000 per consultation. Applications and submission of proof of use are made online via the BAFA portal prior to the start of the consultation. Requirements include the legal capacity of the applicant, manufacturer- and product-neutral consulting, and compliance with the regulation that no combined funding from federal programs exceeds 90% of the expenses. Eligible expenses are limited to the consultant’s fee. This offer provides companies, public institutions, and non-profit organizations with sound decision-making bases for forward-looking investments in energy efficiency and climate protection.
