Description
Throughout Austria, this program supports investments that significantly reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in businesses. Companies, interest groups, non-profit organizations, and public institutions can apply for grants for modern heat recovery systems, the installation of heat pumps, as well as the optimization of heating and fossil process heat generators. In addition to the acquisition of plant technology, planning and installation costs are also eligible for funding. The funding basis is aligned with actual expenses for investment costs up to €150,000; beyond this amount, the funding is determined based on a counterfactual scenario. Applications must be submitted via the Kommunalkredit Public Consulting online portal from March 1, 2024, to December 31, 2050, with the application required prior to binding order, delivery, or start of construction. The target group primarily includes small and medium-sized enterprises as well as entrepreneurial associations and religious institutions seeking to implement comprehensive efficiency improvements in industrial processes and plants.
Eligible costs particularly include investments in components such as heat exchangers, pumps, buffer storage tanks, measurement, control, and regulation (MCR) systems, as well as associated expenses for planning and installation. For the application, among other documents, a technical description with system schematic, a fully completed data sheet, binding offers and cost estimates, a comparison of energy consumption before and after implementation, and for larger investment volumes, additionally a counterfactual scenario and a report from the credit institution must be submitted. Grants can be approved in combination with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Through targeted environmental funding, the program contributes to the modernization of industrial processes and climate protection in Austria.
