Description
The Energy Cut-off Emergency Aid Discretionary Directive offers private households in Brandenburg a one-time grant to prevent immediate electricity or gas disconnections. Outstanding invoice amounts are funded at 100% if livelihood is directly threatened by payment obligations for energy. The aim of the measure is to provide financially disadvantaged households with quick and unbureaucratic relief within the framework of the discretionary directive. The implementation is carried out by the State Office for Social Affairs and Supply of the State of Brandenburg (LASV) as a service provider for the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Integration and Consumer Protection.
Applications can be submitted continuously as long as budget funds are available. A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is residence in Brandenburg, proof of an impending disconnection, and receipt of social benefits (e.g., SGB II, SGB XII, housing allowance) or a comparable income situation. Only outstanding payments for electricity or gas are eligible for funding. When applying, the completed application form, the disconnection warning or shutdown notice, a current social benefit or housing allowance notice, as well as a rental or supply contract must be submitted. Prioritization is based on the urgency of the threat and social law entitlement. Interested households thus receive the necessary support quickly to avert an interruption of energy supply.
