Description

The funding aims to demonstrate innovative smart farming technologies such as robotics, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence in EU agriculture. With a budget of €37,500 per project, the program will support real-world trials on commercial farms to improve working conditions, enhance occupational safety, and promote sustainable practices. Participating projects should present solutions at Technology Readiness Level 5 (TRL5) that have the potential to reduce physical strain and optimize decision-making processes. Inclusivity and gender equality are promoted through neutral wording and multidisciplinary teams driving practical innovations in research & innovation, digitalization, as well as agriculture and rural development.

Applications are open until 4 February 2026, 23:59 CET and are available to individual applicants or consortia of up to three partners from eligible EU countries. Funding is provided to companies, start-ups, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations with validated prototypes at the TRL5 level. Selection is based on the criteria of technological depth and innovativeness, human-centered innovation, field or practical experience, as well as market relevance and realistic market plans. A multi-stage evaluation by external experts and a final review by the Advisory Board ensure the highest quality standards. This funding instrument offers a unique opportunity to test pioneering agrotechnologies under real conditions and sustainably transform the European agricultural sector.
