Description
The Erfurt Donation Parliament of the BürgerStiftung Erfurt supports non-profit initiatives, interest groups, and associations based or active in Erfurt that are committed to a sustainable and open urban society. As a donation-funded model project, it enables citizens to exercise their democratic participation starting from a donation of at least €50: In a neutral plenary, parliamentarians exercise decision-making authority over the allocation of funds. Submitted applications – until April 30, 2026 – are evaluated based on their contribution to democracy and participation, strengthening social cohesion, and relevance to sustainability. Annual sessions provide a learning and experiential space where dialogue-oriented cooperation and the ability to compromise are fostered across social and generational boundaries. Small contributions can thus generate significant impulses for Erfurt.
The funding targets project sponsors who wish to implement innovative approaches in the field of engagement for social cohesion/democracy as well as work & social affairs. In addition to non-profit status, a prerequisite is the linkage of the project goal with the values of an open society. Through direct co-determination, not only financial support is provided, but also an active contribution to strengthening civic engagement and lived democracy is made. The BürgerStiftung Erfurt thereby creates a space for sustainable impact – from the project idea to concrete implementation in urban everyday life. Interested organizations can submit their funding applications by the deadline and become part of a vibrant, solidarity-based network.
