Description

Since 1998, the Erich Glowatzky Prize of the Erich Glowatzky Foundation has annually honored outstanding achievements of young people up to 30 years old residing in Saxony. Individuals are recognized in the areas of technology, science, business, culture, as well as social or charitable engagement, who serve as role models through exceptional accomplishments or actions and enhance the reputation of the Free State. The awardees receive a symbolic honorary pin in gold, silver, or bronze, as well as a financial grant of €3,000 (1st prize), €2,000 (2nd prize), or €1,000 (3rd prize). Additionally, a special prize endowed with €2,000 is awarded for remarkable scientific achievements.

Nominations can be submitted to the Children and Youth Ring Saxony by March 18, 2026 (postmark or email receipt date). A detailed written justification of the achievement and a tabular curriculum vitae are required. The selection is based on the criteria of exceptional achievement or action, role model function, and contribution to the reputation of Saxony. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees decides on the awarding of the prize levels and thus honors young people who set pioneering impulses for the future. The announcement of the awardees will take place during a ceremonial award event in early summer 2026 in Zwickau.
